EARTH HOUR

I meant to add this in the last time I updated the blog
but ran out of time...so your getting it now.
Earth hour! What did you do?
Cassidy was over at her Nanny's for the evening
and Dylan and I wanted to do something to participate in the evening.
While watching the weather channel, we came up with some fun
Electric Free things to do.
We got the tealights out (unscented) and some kebab sticks along with mini marshmallows.
Filled the room with lots of candlelight, including the bathroom just in case.
Cassidy had won a Crank radio, so Dylan and I took turns charging it in preparation
for the 8:30 pm lights out (everything out) time.
So we heard that if you are partaking in Earth hour,
send in your pics to the Weather Network after we were done.
Got the camera and tripod out to commemorate the event.
It was fun evening for us. The radio did lose power quickly so I dug out the batteries.
Heck with that! Dylan wanted to listen to the hockey game.
Once we finished roasting marshmallows, and they were stale LOL,
we played the rock game, Ruk-Shuk and loved it!
We will do this again.


Oh..and that picture the Weather Network wanted to be sent in...
this is the one and not long after, as we were getting ready to go to bed
we heard the woman on tv say...here's a great picture from Eganville....

Our heads whipped around and Dylan jumped up and down and we were
laffin our heads off! Right there on TV LOL

Hockey Tournament and PLAYOFFS!!

Over March break, the hockey team went to Gananoque for a tournament on the Wednesday.
It was a successful tournament and everyone, including the fans, had a great time.
Game 1 saw the boys meet a team from Kanata. It was a close game but in the end, they lost by a score of 1-0. Cassidy was awarded the title of Fan of the Game LOL
The second game was very exciting!!
They faced South Dundas in game 2. 3rd period ended with a 1-1 score...leaving the kids to go to a shoot out. Three skaters each on each team had a chance to put it in the net. Dylan came up second to shoot and although it was a great try...the goalie saved it. I asked him what he was thinking...he said he couldn't stop thinking, always changing his mind on how he was going to let it go. It ended with our team getting one more than the other team....giving us the win!
Last game was against the host team, Gananoque.
The kids got better with each game! They beath them with a score of 3-1!

This past week has been very exciting as well, with lots of parental drama to go along with it!
The boys made it to the B-Finals in playoffs and had to face the other Eganville team.
First to 4 points wins the title of B champs!
The kids played really hard and wanted to win badly! Game one, on Monday night, saw our guys winning by a score of 4-1. Tuesday was the second game and it ended in a tie. Thursday was the next game....Tension was high! The other team HAD to win to take us to Friday night!
I gave the kids a pep talk in the dressing room...lol I'm sure it was the reason they worked so hard! (I didn't want to work late on Friday night LOLOL and if they won Thrusday, then I'd be home by 10 and not 11) Woo hoo...they did it! They beat the other team 4-1 again. Dylan finally got that blueline goal!!! Snapped it in from the blue line..right through the crowd...no tip in...was sooooo exciting! WTG Eagles #1!

Hockey is finally over! Think I'm just as excited about that LOL. Here's the winners! The newspaper was in getting the Official team photo for the paper and the conveynor was there to present the team with their plaque and medals.

This weekend, the girls were off to Amhersview for another competition.
We made it an overnighter and everyone had a really nice time together.
It was an early start with departure time of 5:30 am
Cassidy was first on the ice at 9:20 am.
Here, everyone waits patiently till Cassidy takes the ice.

Somebody has turned 10!!
She had a "Build-a-Bear" party with her friend in Ottawa.
It was alot of fun..and mum even had to get a bear!

Back home for some ice cream cake!

Cassidy got a new haircut!!!
She loves it, as do I

Dylan and his team played in the Cobden Hockey tournament.

They won every game and won the A Final!

Another Competition over and done with.
Think that may be it for this year unless she changes her mind.
She was ill this weekend and she considered pulling out all together.
But with lots of love and a bit of medication...
She went out and tried her best considering.
We were to bed early on friday night as we had a full day of skiing.
She was too ill to go to skating practice Friday evening.
I was just going to do a simple bun, but she was up at 5 am

and she got the works again LOL
7 Am and her hair was all done.

She placed 4th in this week's competition.
She did crack a smile at a judge (cause she knows her)
just prior to her opening camel spin and it threw her off that one LOL
Her Flip jump was fantastic as well as a beautiful sitspin.
I think she was lacking a bit on strength.
I'm proud of her and she brought tears to my eyes.
We came home to rest and then returned later in the afternoon for her spinning competition.

Cassidy competed again today but I had to do her hair.
I had gone to the hairdressers yesterday to book her in
but she wanted her in at 7:30 am!!
GROANNNNN
So I ended up doing it
No yelling or screaming and a happy face at the end!
Woo hoo mummy!
Apparently, I should be a hairdresser LOLOL
